Free, asynchronous online training course "MedKlimaAmbulant" for doctors and medical assistants

Climate change is already affecting the health of your patients today - from heat stress to respiratory diseases and new infectious diseases. According to the WHO (2023), climate change is the greatest health risk and poses growing challenges for healthcare systems. The German Medical Association therefore called for climate-sensitive health counselling as an integral part of medical care as well as targeted training for medical staff (German Medical Association, 2021; 2023).

How can you become active in your practice?

The team of the research project "MedKlimaAmbulant" (sponsored by the Dr Pritzsche Foundation in the Stifterverband) at the Medical Faculty OWL of Bielefeld University has a Free online training has been developed. It helps doctors and healthcare professionals to better recognise and treat climate change-related health risks and to make their own practices more sustainable.

The compact training programme teaches Scientifically sound knowledge and Practical strategies for climate-sensitive health counselling and practice design Flexible, independent of deadlines and interactive.

The entire course can be completed in around 140 minutes. A certificate of attendance awaits you at the end.
